Custom Bar Tops

We are so excited about this next project We get to design and build custom bar tops for our clients basement. The first one is the bar Top that is shaped like the top of a stop sign This is the main bar! The second and third tops we are working on have matching wood tops with chevron pattern on the islands with the columns . The fourth top is the wood top for the kitchen area on top of cabinets. The last two tops we will be working on are for behind the bar area !

This bar top I drew up about 10 designs for our clients to pick from. After narrowing it down and deciding on a pattern we started on the top. When realizing how the pattern would look when the boards turn where the bar angles , we pivoted our design plan so that we could get the most flattering and beautiful design for the top, and it turned out more beautiful than my original design.... I also made sure that all the Chevron points pointed into the center of room , so they all were going into same direction and all flowed together ! Main bar before we added the top and the back two bars will be added behind this one

Main bar all cut and glued up! Look at that beautiful wood! We used poplar for the tops It’s harder than pine so it doesn’t bow and bend as easy which makes a more sturdy top !

I’m in love with these tops! I could have just too coated them and not even stained they were so beautiful! our clients like a darker wood stain so we tested a bunch for them to see what they liked ! We needed up using a mixture but the main color was Varathane Roanoake and secondary Color we used was Western

oak and third color was Aged Barrel !

The main bar has a bar top underneath it and this one was one of my hard to design since It has two two angles on the sides I didn’t want the design to distract from the top which was the focus! I messed with layout for a few hours till I settled on the vertical layout which is the only way I thought it didn’t distract or become to busy with the top pattern ! I’m so happy with how it turned out !

Back bar top This one we Wanted simple and clean pattern ! I love the breadboard style on ends and center to really ground the top !

We will get pictures of all the custom tops when the basement is finished! I am so excited to see this space come to life. It will be a truly amazing basement for there family to enjoy!

Have a great weekend !
